Star Citizen: partying up for ops
Star Citizen has no private or community servers, and you can't choose your shard. To fly together, form a party before anyone launches.
Before your first op
- Add your crewmates as contacts by their RSI handle: on Spectrum, in the main menu's friends list, or in Commlink (F11) in game.
- Sign up for ops in
#sc-ops. Each op is a forum post with seats per ship (pilot, gunners, engineer, medic). Grab@SC Opsto hear about new ones.
Forming the party
- Everyone stays at the main menu.
- The op lead invites the others to a party. Accept the invite.
- The party leader launches first, and everyone else follows. The party goes to the leader's shard.
- Meet in Briefing Room for the brief, then split to ship channels if needed.
Big ops (10 or more players): large parties can be split across shards. Form one party per ship, each with its own leader, so a split never separates a crew from its ship.
Joining late: quit to the main menu, accept the party invite there, and launch again.
After the op
Payouts for mining and trade ops are split by the op lead, using current prices.
Fair play
Don't use anything that injects into or modifies the game client. CIG bans for it, and so do we.
