Terms of service

These terms are the agreement between you and Hidden Token Gaming ("HTG", "we"), run by [legal entity: to be decided (plan D5)]. They cover everything HTG runs:

• the website;
• the HTG Discord server and the HTG Bot;
• the game servers HTG runs or rents;
• app.hiddentoken.com (planned).

By joining or using any of them, you agree to these terms and to our privacy policy.

1. Who can join

You must be 18 or older. You must not be banned from HTG, or barred from Discord or from a game by its publisher, in a way that these terms would let you get around.

2. The community rules are part of these terms

The server rules, the code of conduct and moderation and appeals are part of this agreement. If they disagree with these terms on how the community is run, the rules win.

3. Games and publishers

HTG is an independent fan community. It isn't affiliated with or endorsed by any game publisher. Each game's own terms and codes of conduct apply to you when you play it, including on HTG servers (see publisher rules). HTG enforces some of them because breaking them puts HTG's servers and members at risk.

4. Your accounts

• Link only game accounts that are yours, and only one HTG account per person.
• Don't share your account, sell it, or use someone else's.
• You're responsible for what happens through your accounts. Tell staff straight away if one is compromised.

5. What you post

You keep ownership of what you post in HTG spaces: messages, clips, screenshots, guides and the like. You give HTG permission to store and show it, within HTG spaces, so the community can see it. That permission ends when you delete it, except where others have already quoted or replied to it, or where we keep it in a moderation record. Only post what you have the right to share.

6. Things you must not do

Beyond the community rules:

• attack, overload, probe or disrupt HTG's servers, website or bots;
• scrape or bulk-collect information about members from HTG services;
• use HTG services to cheat, exploit, farm XP or currency, or get around a ban;
• pretend to be HTG staff, or claim HTG endorses something it doesn't;
• use HTG services for anything illegal.

7. HTG's services

HTG is a small community project. Servers, bots, stats and the app are provided as they are, and may change, go offline, lose data or be shut down, sometimes without notice. Stats and leaderboards are our best effort and can be wrong. We may correct or remove them, for example after finding cheating.

8. Moderation and ending access

Staff apply the moderation ladder. We can suspend or end your access to any HTG service if you break these terms, and some offences mean an immediate ban. You can appeal as the moderation page describes. You can leave at any time. Leaving doesn't erase moderation records we need to enforce a ban.

9. Supporters (planned)

Supporter memberships run through Patreon under Patreon's terms, including payments and refunds. HTG doesn't process payments. Supporter perks are community-wide extras, such as a role, a badge or a name colour. They never include game items, in-game advantages or features built on a publisher's data, and they may change. Supporting HTG doesn't exempt anyone from the rules. [Perk rules per publisher: see the counsel questions in publisher rules.]

10. Disclaimers and liability

11. Governing law and disputes

12. Changes to these terms

We will post changes here and update the date at the top. If a change matters, we will announce it in Discord before it takes effect. If you keep using HTG after that, you accept the new terms.
