About

Where the name comes from

In the 1990s, John worked at a video arcade. When his friends came in, they said it was like he had a "hidden token": he could play any machine he liked. That's the idea behind HTG, a place where you always have a game to play.

The mark is two arcade tokens, with the second one hidden behind the first. There's always another game.

What HTG is for

Hidden Token Gaming is a variety gaming community for adults who play fair. Pick the games you play when you join and you'll see their channels, a playbook for ending up in the same crew, party, server or squad, and the people who play them. The line-up is on the games page, and the weekly sessions are on events.

Who runs it

John founded HTG and runs it. Moderators and a lead for each game join as the community grows. Questions go in a #support ticket on Discord.

What we're building

HTG's tools are built on gravel, an open-source framework we're building for running game servers across many games, with linked identities and cross-game stats. It's early: the design is done and the code is starting. HTG is where it gets tested on a real community before it's released for others to use.
